I FEEL ENGLIGHTENED! | 2ND WEEK OF 21ST CENTURY SKILLS TRAINING

  Hello friends! It’s been a week and half since the last post of mine. There has been quite busyness in my life but there is one thing that I enjoy in all busyness which is 21st Skills Training Course. In the 2nd week of this training, we have touched into two main topics which are collaboration skills and English as a global phenomena.    In the first section of the class, we have focused on collaboration skills. At the beginning of the session, our teacher Melda Yılmaz introduced us to Linoit which is a website that allows you to create boards with sticky papers. In our session we used it to create stories. As groups, we were given certain words to chose from, then with my friends created a story using those words. At the end, we shared them as sticky notes, on our class board, with class mates. A Step into 21st Century

  Last Friday I started a training program on 21st century skills and the very first lesson was mostly a wonderful discussion. Beginning with a presentation on critical thinking, we discussed different questions such as “What is critical thinking?”, “Who is a critical thinker?”, What type of qualities differentiate a strong and weak critical thinker from each other?”. After discussing all these questions some of us stated that their perspective on critical thinking had changed accordingly. Then, we participated in some kind of a game about understanding a critical thinker’s mind and we chose the possible statements which a critical thinker might make in some situations.
